In summary,
DO NOT WAIT!1. Guidelines (comparing ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM) are mostly the same with a few additions.
2. Looking up a code is done the same in both codes sets.
3. Employers will want you to be able to use BOTH code sets. (Some things are not going to use ICD10, such as Workmen's Compensation.)
